I liked your Vampire Diaries reviews! I was very annoyed with the female deaths last season - after doing so well writing characters with agency, history, and female connections, too - so I'm also worried about Caroline. I didn't pick up the "don't talk about slaves" comment as comparing supernatural beings to people of colour, though, as that hasn't been a direction the show has taken, despite its setting, and the large number of Civil War-era vampires who were people of colour and/or female. I thought of it more as a comment on the Lockwood family's determination to keep secrets and maintain their status, no matter the cost to others.

If you can, track down the original D.E.B.S. short film by Angela Robinson. Slightly different from the film that got mass release.
