I don't see what the harm is in adopting, actually, because Abby would have to take care of the kids without an ISBI spouse to help, but she'll still need a nanny, and they're even worse than spouses when it comes to helping with the baby.
Also, she is living in the house I always play when I fire up TS3, and she went to a party at a house one of my sims robbed while playing the Kleptomania Challenge. Thanks to a super-aggressive hack, we stole their car.
