ekphrasis and its compliment
Sep. 21st, 2004 09:12 pmI believe ekphrasis is the word for poetry that is based on art, especially visual art--is there a word for art that is based on poetry? Because I really want that, want to do that, want to create art based on poetry. (Though, for the life of me, I can't figure out why--I'm not that hot a poet, and I'm a horrible artist.) Comment and discuss, please.

Or your art?
If you know someone who paints, have them find a poem they enjoy and read it to them over and over while they paint a picture.
Personally, I think it's a cool idea. I would have never thought of it.
It's an idea, and ideas aren't bad until we label them as such. If you want to do it, then do it. If not, then don't. It's that simple.
P.S. Fuck Yoko Ono. While I'm on it, fuck The Beatles too.

I love your P.S., too.
