I love horror. In particular, I love fear and monsters in woods, and not knowing who to trust. In my horror, I want more women with agency and strength, women who are afraid but keep fighting, and, by god, women who are survivors, not victims or villains. (I'm looking at you, Supernatural.)

I frequently start a book before bed and end up devouring it in a couple hours, but it's been awhile since I did it with a horror novel and once it was over was absolutely thrilled.

Voracious by Alice Henderson kicked ass.

The main character is Madeline Keye and she is basically awesome. The horror is creepy and well-written and it actually gave me chills, which is pretty rare. I kept grinning while I was reading because I loved having this incredible female character in a horror novel. This is what I've been wanting!

So I highly recommend this book. It was creepy and delicious. Four full moons out of five.

It sounds good. I'll have to check it out. And I find those whiny "Save me!" women annoying, too.
